I was able to play this RPGesque game for a while during my visit to Rowena’s utterly adorable son, Ken-chan, and I must say it takes getting used to. Since Ro was unfinished with this game and couldn’t let me take this baby home along with the rest of the anime I swapped with her (I traded my SiN, Crying Freeman, F3, Spy of Darkness, and Imma Youjo for some of her H collection), I thought I could get an original copy off my favorite HN shopping rack.

As I mentioned earlier, Snow Drop is a little bit hard to adjust to. I am a true-blooded electronic gamer. As some of you might know, I’ve been running a gaming site with my cousins for years before I built Hentai Neko. So the prospect of playing something that needed clicking all the time until I could get to the next exciting scene left a rather bitter taste in my mouth. Hey, I was used to Final Fantasies and Xenogears! And the first adult game I ever played was about mecha, which had a lot of action and adventure in it. I was actually using my brain in that mecha experience because I was collecting tools, developing skills and fighting battles just to see my opponents undress. So you can just imagine the shock I had when I realized that in SD, in order to go past the somewhat boring dialogue, I had to click and click and click and click…

Now for the good part. It’s easy to enjoy myself with SD because the soundtrack was quite pleasant. Track #8 on the Sound Collection is especially reminiscent of the Wild Arms theme. As for the voice dubbing, I give my heartfelt approval to Kasumi’s seiyuu!

The fun begins when you finish the game, actually. You get to see the CG sequences, as well as replay some of your favorite scenes. You might actually be surprised to find that you have missed seeing a lot of your favorite girl’s pictures. This is why even though I hate clicking all the time, I’m still playing. I just have to complete the CG collection! That fast forward tool at the menu is a blessing! It lets you finish the game in half the time and experiment with all the paths you hadn’t taken.

Overall, I still have mixed feelings. But that Options menu is really worth experimenting with! Oh, and I definitely forgot to mention my favorite menu feature: save anytime, anywhere!
