The rodent saves the day!
It has become a nightly ritual for me to watch h-anime before sleeping because I have a bad case of insomnia. I guess it was not a good idea to choose Alien from the Darkness because it was like a bolt from the blue to find that instead of making me drowsy, the alien kept me awake.
Plotwise, it’s the usual space tentacle flick where all girls, no matter how intelligent they seem, succumb to death in the most…uh, sexually stimulating manner. The upside to this is that everyone looks pretty. The artwork and animation are decent. Every girl seems to have a distinct personality that you don’t usually see in h-anime. Too bad they all end up…well, you know how it is in horror movies.
Alien from the Darkness was probably one of those few horror hentai pictures that had me really hanging in suspense. Well, for one, there was a lot of running around and evading tentacles. I just absolutely abhor chase scenes. They often give me heart attacks—figuratively speaking, of course. Second, the supposedly geeky computer analyst did not seem to be as intelligent as most anime nerds. I was up on my bed almost screaming, “Idiot! The solution is right in front of you!” Because of her inability to make use of her mental faculty properly, the chase felt like it wasn’t ever going to end. Thank heavens for her cute pet rodent Einstein. I’m not really sure whether he’s a ferret, a guinea pig, or just a very big mouse, but he’s definitely the hero in my book.
