One look of the two leading ladies and it’s obvious that this title is based on the game “Milk Junkies”; but do not be confused with another title: “Milk Junkie”.

The animated version follows the story of the game pretty well. Yusuke, is hired by Reina to be her tutor. Noticing her large breasts, he “blindly” accepts the job. The first time he for an appointment he meets Reina’s mother who has even bigger cannonballs than Reina. What happens during the sessions is what you would expect. Yusuke teaches Reina for a few minutes and starts feeling her up. The next visit, Reina’s mother seduces him. It boils down to mother and daughter fighting over the same man. Yusuke is then “grudgingly” subjected to a sex battle between the two to decide who he likes more.

Thankfully, these kinds of plots are only found in hentai. It makes me wonder what kind of simpleton comes up with two bimbos fighting over the same person and trying to one-up each other in terms of sex. Granted that a lot of guys would love to be in this situation; they can keep on dreaming. Not only is this plot unbelievable, it is also incredibly predictable. Just by listening to Yusuke’s inner dialogues, we know what will happen next.

A character driven plot doesn’t do well when the characters are as plain and one sided as these three. Yusuke is the generic pervert who will do anything as long as they have big melons. Reina is your typical mindless girl who will do anything for a guy she likes. The mother is incredibly lax even for someone who sees her daughter having sex with someone she just did.

The art style of the animation tries to follow the game as closely as possible, but comes a bit short. The faces of the characters definitely resemble the ones in the game. The girl’s bodies are incredibly well endowed. Exactly what anybody can expect from a title literally translates to “Explosive Bust Mother and Daughter.” A good thing for the artists is that both women have the same sizes so they can just change the heads. But the repetitions don’t stop there.

If more proof is needed that Vanilla’s animators are getting lazier, look no further. You see the same thrusting, rubbing, sucking, and fondling motions in every sex scene for both episodes. The positions are unimaginative and unoriginal; they border on boring. The best scene for this title would be the threesome between the three main characters and even that was half-assed. Screenshots from the game show the characters having sex in places like swimming pools and parks. That would’ve been a great addition to the poorly done love scenes. Unfortunately we are at the mercy of lazy animators.

The idiotic story, poor art, and redundant love scenes make it difficult to recommend this. People who are desperate to see two women with over sized funbags fighting over a perverse individual who obviously only likes them because of their bodies (see: their boobies) will definitely enjoy this. Fans of the game should definitely stick with the game and its sequel.

If Serial Experiments Lain and Parasite Eve would combine into a mutated 3D CG hentai feature, Malice@Doll would be the result. My prayers for a remotely intelligent H anime had been answered, but this title is so much more than what I had originally bargained for. I actually had a splitting headache trying to figure out what its philosophical tale is all about—its point and the message it wants to impart to the viewers.

As usual, my psycho self zeroes in on the moral dilemma. Malice is a machine that has the personality of a normal human, except she doesn’t feel any pain or any of the emotions that sometimes cause a regular person to breakdown in despair or laugh out loud in glee. She only recognizes the need for survival, and the lack of means on which she could be maintained. When she turns human, she sees herself exempt from the problems that have afflicted the rest of the robotic community. They need oil, but it seems that a drought has stricken the land. She, on the other hand, now sports a beautiful body that didn’t need lubrication. She could feel what she can only experience in dreams. Unfortunately, all the other dolls fear this new Malice. She has become an abomination because she is no longer a robot.

Malice begins to suffer an unbearable ache in her chest, a sign that she is hurting from all the rejection she has been receiving from her former colleagues. This doesn’t last long, however, because she figures out a way to make everybody like her and she proceeds to turn the entire community into a living, breathing horde of flesh—many of them are so ghastly misshapen that I was sorely reminded of the mutated mitochondria of Parasite Eve. Nonetheless, for Malice, everything seems fine. Or is it?

In exchange for the wonderful warmth of human flesh and the lack of need for oil, Malice didn’t count on physical pain…and the ability to be touched by death. As a doll, she could withstand every humiliation, physical abuse, and eccentricities of her clients. She was resilient, having been created out of tough artificial material. But as a human being, her fragile body can only take so much. Thoroughly bewildered, Malice looks for the source of this nightmare, only to discover that there are more puzzles left for her to solve. Confronting them could either clear her mind or devour her completely.

Malice@Doll doesn’t seem like a cheap production, and has in fact been in development since the late 1990s and released in 2001, meaning a lot of brains have been fried in order to come up with this presentation. It has interesting characters from Dorice@Doll the stunning leader, Heather@Doll the maid fantasy, Elza@Doll the lonely and most abused whore, Ammanda@Doll the albino, Misty@Doll the exotic beauty, and Joe@Adminstrator the manager of the entire city who has always held a special fixation for Malice. The music is disturbing, which is perfectly suited Malice@Doll’s overall atmosphere. Fly Away, the theme song, is sung in English by Ryoko Kashima. Intertwining these elements provide just the right touch of cuteness in an otherwise grim Alice in Wonderland story.

Since Winter Heat and Autumn Heat can’t stand on their own as individual anime titles, I’m combining my reviews for all of the Heat Series. Each of them elicit the same reaction from me anyway, so I think it’s pretty pointless to discuss them one by one. I will just sound like a broken record.

The Heat Series is composed of Summer Heat, Autumn Heat, and Winter Heat. It’s a telenovela documenting the lives of college students in love. Since it isn’t your typical hentai fanfare, I’m looking at it through the eyes of a sane anime fan. Its attempt at seriousness reminds me too much of End of Summer, hence the 4-paw rating. Here we see Mr. Jerk Masato professing his love for one girl, but has no qualms screwing some cheap-ass female he just met on the subway! Worse, he gets angry just because his Lady Love was seen kissing someone else! Oh, ok, it’s all right for him to spew his seed over to another woman, but it’s mortal sin for the girl to touch lips with another man? Sounds like double-standard to me. Seducing other easy conquests is also a poor excuse of a tactic at getting over a love problem. Why can’t he just admit that he’s a sick fool who just wants to get laid from Summer through Winter?

Did I also mention how disgusting Masato’s mouth is during “lovemaking”? He can’t possibly be taken seriously with language like that. I just told my fiancé that after we get married and he tries to talk like Masato during the wedding night, I’d slap him repeatedly till he drops unconscious.

The Heat Series should have concentrated on tentacles or orgies instead. It would have at least pleased one set of fans that way. If it aims at targeting the remotely intelligent audience, I don’t think it could hit its mark.

Frankly, I’m not as harsh on this series as Neko is =), because I thought it was a nice little horny romp. Still, the series does have the annoying habit of moving up in the first tape, and moving downhill from there.

First off, I wont blow sand up your skirts, the dub sucks. Unfortunately, I could only get it that way, so I had to deal with it. As for the show itself, the animation I thought was really well done. Chisato is drawn very sexily to the point where you wish she was real. The plot is fairly lame, and the “former crush wants to get the girl” type deal has been overdone. Still, the first tape ends satisfyingly enough.

The second tape is where it goes downhill, and I agree with Neko 100 percent. How does a guy who bangs some floozy for no reason other than to do it, expect to have our sympathies when his “love” has a fleeting encounter with another man whom she’s not interested in, and he can’t hack it? Bah…

Fluid art make this watchable, but trying to figure out what the main character is smoking will kill it by the end.

Can Eud and the other resistance workers fight to bring down the evil Morlock? Will Tia be subjected to Morlock’s sadistic pleasures for the rest of her life? Find out in this wonderfully drawn and classically animated adventure in a fantasy world of Gilliamesque creations and gothic scenery.

I was actually surprised that the artwork sort of reminded me of a Hayao Miyazaki anime. I almost expected a good storyline to go with the raw look, which is Miyazaki’s trademark. Don’t get me wrong, though, the art is nowhere near any of Miyazaki’s works even though they exuded nearly the same feel. Now, is this good or bad?

For what I have expected of a hentai anime, however, Balthus: Tia’s Radiance still managed to surprise me. It has the makings of a good, serious anime, one with plot that can survive even if the hentai scenes were to be chopped off. There isn’t anything spectacular about the story, but the approach has something quite different to it. There’s talk of oppression and rebellion. There’s also an inspiring story about two siblings with a significant family history. Then there’s the presence of innocent idealism, since the major conflict is resolved through divine intervention (and the light of Tia!).

Unfortunately, there seems to be not enough time for any real developments in either the characters or the general scenario. Everything went by so fast, I hardly had any moment to blink my eyes for fear of missing something juicy. At least, as compensation, the sex addict of a bad guy isn’t bad looking. In fact, he’s cute and definitely better than the lead male character. Yum yum!

Now if only the hentai scenes could be a little more detailed…

Battle Can Can reminds me of another Charlie’s Angels knock-off, Spy of Darkness, except this one looks a bit older. The horrid experiences of Battle Can Can’s female leads were pretty much similar to what happened to Spy of Darkness’ action heroes. The difference is that I can take watching tentacles in Spy of Darkness. Tentacles can be disgusting, but bearable.

A guy with a head shaped like a penis—now that is something that’s hard for me to digest. When he made his revolting debut in Battle Can Can, I had to blink and turn my head away as I felt bile rise to my throat. Let’s just say, it’s one of those bloody little sexual instances that one can’t easily forget. I also had to watch Disney’s Atlantis the next day just so I could erase that scene from my mind.

The plot? Well, if you’re looking for something intelligent and coherent, you won’t find it here. It’s the usual hentai fare, where you have supposedly strong females falling into the hands of eternally lustful enemies. Never mind the Cosmic Firefly. It has very little significance to the title. Yawn. So what’s new?

The art needs a lot of work. Battle Can Can looks too much like a cheap 70s flick. Bad art, bad animation, bad story. Heck the hentai scenes aren’t even satisfying! Who the heck invests in these things?
