I can't stop laughing!!! >>> by firesenshi (??.??.2001)
I really can't. And I thought the anime was another one of those magical girl genres with monster of the day themes that just never end! Hnnn... eeto... yes, this is one of them. The entirety of Chacha, though, doesn't fall on the magical girl concept. The universe has a world of whacky wizards and totally unusual creatures interacting in this TV series. They will make you think that the magical girl aspect serves only as a backdrop. The magical girl concept does in fact have an immediate resolution and then continue on to the whackiness.
The comedy is slapstick in nature, but one must always consider that slapstick in anime has taken a whole new meaning. Let's say, Chacha needs to drink milk. Riiya says that his grandfather (a giant) always brings him milk every morning so he rushes outside and shouts to his grandpa, "Grandpa! Do you have milk?" "Yes, Riiya. Do you want some?" Riiya then begins to walk in order to get it from his grandpa when a cow flies toward him.... Well, yeah... everybody just has to do the things literally. Why is that? Chacha's has a whacky cast that includes Dorothy and Seravi, the latter of which is totally obsessed with Dorothy's blonde hair. Seeing them will make you faithfully follow their quarrels and 'love' story. And they keep
adding new funny characters to the series! So if you want something light and extremely funny that makes you roll to the floor, I guarantee that you should see this. |
