FINAL FANTASY 8 : Extra Subquests =========================================== version 1.0 by Naomi The Kraiders' Otaku Fridge: http://www.geocities.com/kraiders/ Collective: http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Temple/2723 ---------------------------------------------- Occult Fan III FAQ This magazine gives you *hints* on how to access a GF (which is actually GF Doom Train). - When you first reach FH, check the stairs leading to FH. The one with the tanks. You'll see a ladder leading downward. There'll be a series of ladders to climb until you see the Master Fisherman (the guy who was at the scene when Balamb Garden collided with FH). - Talk to the Master Fisherman. (There is also a draw point of Full Life at this place.) He'll say something about his student. When he asks you to go talk to his student, enter FH. - At FH, there is a guy fishing near the old man's Junk Shop. This is Fisher Kid. Talk to him. He'll tell you stuff about his teacher and fishing. He's talkative but bear with him. - When Fisher Kid is at the end of his dialogue, go *all the way back* to Master Fisherman. Master Fisherman thanks you and presents you with Occult Fan III. If you come with him, he'll tell you many things about Mayor Dobe and how he named FH. Pretty funny... considering I met him later. Shumi Village Part II I hated my first visit to the Shumis, giving me only Phoenix Pinion. (Pretty good! But my next visit, I like! ^_^ You have to be the type of person who goes back and forth tho) - So aren't the Shumis building a statue of Laguna? Prompt the Elder to make his Attendant help Sculptor to finish the Laguna statue. But Attendant doesn't want to help, prompt the Elder to tell the Moomba to prompt Attendant. - Visit them again. Attendant helps Sculptor but they tell you they need the help of one more... this time it is Artisan. - Artisan doesn't want to help. The Elder doesn't know what to do. Now, wasn't there a baby Moomba back at FH. So what are you waiting for? Go to FH!!! - Where in FH? Go to the Grease Monkey shop and there'll be a small Moomba there. Talk to the Grease Monkey about the problem in the Shumi Village and he'll gladly oblige that you take the small Moomba with you. - Take the small Moomba to Artisan in the Shumi Village. Artisan probably thinks it's cute (because it talks! -_^) and then step out. You meet Master Fisherman (ta-dan!... If you talked to Fisher Kid, he was always saying. "He's tired of the ocean and wants to go fish in a pond. Of all ponds... it's the Shumi village pond, ya see!) and you also meet the Elder. Now, Artisan is so happy, he will help finish the statue! ^_^ - Talk to the Elder and he will give you a Status Guard, which can actually let your GF have the ability to learn ST Def x 4! (I'm happy with it, ya see!) - Bonus: If you go and talk to the Artisan, Sculptor and Attendant and they finish the statue, a small skit featuring Laguna will be there! Isn't Laguna cute? The Case of the Missing Vase at Winhill (I hate this.) Situation: The owner of the big mansion says that his precious family vase has been missing. He suspects the ghost but nothing is proven so far. Do you wanna help? First, you must have Irvine in your party because he jokes about certain things and is cute for some reason. (I tried other people, only Irvine does it.) Irvine is your sleuth, and he makes a comment on that darn suspicious knight armor in the house (at the side of the stairs). The culprit is found! It runs away leaving a vase fragment behind. You now must look for the other three. The truth is out there! - The old woman in a violet dress tending a flower shop hid some amongst her flowers! aaaahhhh! - Caution: Chocobo crossing. A cute chicobo crossed the road. Why? Bump it! It drops a vase fragment! Bump it again! It drops a potion and Phoenix. Bump it again, and its mommy chocobo bumps you! An eye for an eye.... - Where da heck is the other one? I searched entire Winhill! Go to the old bar (RAine's old house) and didn't the woman tell you to sniff the flowers? Well, look at the tables and sniff 'em! The table in front when you see Squall almost facing the TV screen. So the cat has the vase fragment! (If you didn't see the nice vision of Raine here....) - Then you get... a Holy Stone for all your troubles! How nice this is. --------------------------------------- FINAL FANTASY VIII is copyright 1999 by Square Soft Ltd. FINAL FANTASY and SQUARESOFT are registered trademarks of Square Co Ltd. and Dolby.
