============================================ LEGEND OF LEGAIA: LEVELLING UP THE EASY WAY by Skysenshi http://www.coolay.com ============================================ =========================== I. INTRODUCTION =========================== Okay, I know everyone who's playing this game right now is probably frustrated with the way you have to make do with what little experience points and money that this game gives per battle. So here are some tips that I can give especially for those who don't have game sharks. If you must know, I was able to reach level 99 without a game shark (I had to reach level 99 because that's the only way that the ruler of Ratayu will give you the keys to the Evil Ra-Seru Juggernaut summon). =========================== II. TIPS =========================== 1. Don't run away during encounters! Yeah, I know battles can get so dragging to the point that you find yourself literally sleeping while playing, but regular encounters are the only way that you find yourself not doing much work later on in the game. Besides, at the end of the game your stats will show how many times you escaped and I think it's kinda embarrassing. I don't know about men out there, but a woman definitely has pride about these things ^_- 2. Don't try to level up earlier in the game. It seems to be a universal law of RPGs to only give you very little status improvements when you try to level up at an early stage. Aside from that, the worst places to level up are during the early stages. But if you find you want to completely upgrade your equipment, the best place in the early stages would be Octam Underground. After your upgrade there, you won't need for another upgrade in the later stages, unless you want to. The strongest weapons in this game are not bought. 3. If you must find the perfect place to level up, it's in the innards of the final dungeon. The Gilium L.3 and the Puera L.3 are the best sources of experience points and money. There is also a save point there. I will assume that you've already gotten the Crimson Book that doubles the experience points of the one who wears it. 3.1. Yeah, I know the L.3 Puera has 3 death cards and one redeeming card for your character and it's hell when your character gets killed accidentally because of the death card. The technique here is to NOT focus on the "Puera Dies" card. Spread your mind to the whole of the screen, viewing it in its totality so that you see where every card goes. It's easier because there will be times when you'd get dizzy with only focusing on the "Puera Dies" card. 3.2. After one of your characters reach level 97 (I assume this character is wearing the Crimson Book), remove the Crimson Book from him/her and let another character wear it. Then, on your next battle, ideally with a Puera, have the Puera kill the character who is in level 97. This way, the other two characters gain more experience points from the death of the other character. When the second character has reached level 98, give the Crimson Book to the last character and have Pueras kill the other two, so you get more experience. In detail this is what I did: 3.2.1. Vahn wore the Crimson Book until he reached level 97, then I gave the book to Noa. 3.2.2. I had a Puera kill Vahn so Noa and Gala could get higher experience points. I didn't heal Vahn, so in the next battle he would only have 1 HP. 3.2.3. I equipped Vahn with the Slowness Chain, so Gala and Noa can kill two Giliums and the one that stays alive will be able to take a turn first. Hopefully, the last Gilium will use his hit-all-enemies lightning attack and will instantly kill Vahn. I did this cycle over and over with the Puera and the Gilium until Noa reached level 98. 3.2.4. When Noa reached level 98, I transferred the Crimson Book to Gala, and had a Puera kill both Noa and Vahn. By this time the experience points was greater, I think around 10,000 to 11,000+. And since Gala was wearing the Crimson Book, he was getting twice that amount. 3.2.5. Equip Gala and Vahn with Slowness Chains. Noa can kill one Gilium and the two other Giliums can kill Noa and Vahn. With both Noa and Vahn dead, Gala can receive 15,000+ experience points, but that was doubled since my Gala was wearing the Crimson Book. There is only one side-effect to this method--when your stats appear at the end of the game, even the number of KOs your characters had are recorded, but that really didn't matter to me anyways, since my KOs were deliberate and had a purpose. =========================== III.
