============================================ GAME OF THE STINGY: TIPS ON SAVING UP FOR POWER v. 1.5 by Skysenshi http://www.coolay.com ============================================ ======================== I. THE STINGY WAY ======================== Here are foolproof ways of building up that idiot proof weapon and armor. Plus getting those items that you might need before the final battle. These are some things I didn't do and some things that I did do. 1) Collect junks (See my Junk Guide for more details), and after you collect 300, Wayne will give you an ultra powerful weapon. 2) Try not to be tool happy unless you really really need it and if it's only a super tool you're going to use since a super tool doesn't completely obliterate a source weapon or armor. The strongest armor and weapon in the normal game can be found at the Museum. That's a good time to use the super tools. 3) After every quest, go back to Wayne and store all equipment and items that you won't be using for the next quests. This will give you more room in your inventory to get all those juicy stuff. Plus, all the stuff you store in Wayne's inventory in your normal game gets saved in your EX mode. You can pull off the pluses later when you transfer them into your most powerful weapon in the EX mode. Also, remember to have your armor and weapon engraved because this will also carry over your weapon and armor into the EX mode. 4) Trading cards are ok to use, I guess. I still had one regular trading card left when I got the infinite super tool kit. In the Chrysler Building, there are 14 special trading cards that you can give to Wayne and he'll give you two tune-ups for the price of one special trading card. (Stingy person that I am, I thought I shouldn't have a tune-up for trading cards, but I still couldn't get Wayne to give me the super tool kit even after I had hoarded all 14 trading cards. It was when my bro started scolding me about my stinginess that I realized that in order for Wayne to have a special card collection, I should have a tune-up -_-. In the end I only had one tune-up per special card because I was in a hurry to get to that super tool kit). Needless to say, the super tool kit is given to you after you've given Wayne all the 14 Special Trading Cards. 5) Use your brains when battling enemies, especially bosses. The less damage you have the more bonus points you get. Bonus points are for putting on your weapon and armor or item capacity and active time. One thing about bonus points, though, if you plan to go past level 38 try not to use your bonus points on your item capacity because it will eventually max out while you're levelling up without having to put in the bonus points. You can only have up to 46 item capacity, that's equivalent to item capacity level 99. If you put in a box+4 special feature on your armor, you will have 50 item capacity. In any case, like I said, you don't have to put your bonus points there because it will max out on its own. (Hmm...same thing applies to Xenogears MP capacity, I see ^^) 6) Ammo is very important. Before upgrading your weapon, make sure that the host weapon you're going to discard has been unloaded. After the normal mode you will have two ammo crates. After your first ammo crate has filled up to 999, when you go back to Wayne to check on your equipment in the storage, those that haven't been unloaded yet can be unloaded using your spare ammo crate. 7) Important items can be found in the following enemies in the Chrysler Building (The Building of Collection): JUNK = Blue birds on the 2nd to 10th floors give these out. The blob spouting jello similar to the ones you fought in the hospital also give these out. The jello's appear on the 61-70th floors. MEDICINE 4 & REVIVE = Snakes give this out. These are the snakes that poison you even with the Auto-Anti-Poison armor on. These can be found on the 61-70th floors AMMO = Those giant dogs that are similar to the ones you fought in the NYPD give out Ammo +30s. These can be found in the 61-70th floors. Another good source of Ammo+30 is the poison-spouting jello. You may say it has nothing but junk...BUT (BIG BIG BUT), you have the Club 5 with you, ne? After defeating most of your enemies (the jello doesn't fight alone), leaving one or two jello, you can club them (change your weapon). Club 5 has a "Steal Item" feature that lets you steal great items, besides the ones you're going to get after a battle. The jello also give out Medicine 4s. ======================== II.
