Non-stop action...
Three words: I was pissed. This could have been a masterpiece.
Everything in it screams that it is a masterpiece. It has spectacular
animation and artwork. The crowning touch is the twisted story
of 2 young assassins secretly working for a lunatic police officer.
True it it can be very violent at times that I had to cover my
head with a pillow in between blood-gushing, literally explosive
scenes, but all the elements I want in a movie are in Kite! Truly
an anime like no other.
You ask why I was pissed? Here's your answer: The ending was
so depressing it kept me awake for days and gave me nightmares
during the hours of sleep! Bad endings are a big no-no in my list.
DIRECTOR'S CUT UPDATE (Ecchi level upgraded): I got hold
of the director's cut several months after watching the edited
version and I have noticed that not only have the sex scenes been
deleted on the wholesome installation, but there are also missing
important conversations that provide important foreshadowing as
to how Kite is going to end. The reason for this is because these
conversations take place after Sawa had just had one of her more
brutal sex sequence ever. I thought the violence was the only
thing that would have me turning my head away, but I also got
a little scared of the hentai parts. This is not because there
were tentacles or anything out of the ordinary like that. None
of those icky alien stuff were present. It was more because most
of the men here have Lolita complex. Looking at those frail female
bodies being assaulted by probably the largest human
male members I have ever seen in my entire h-watching life was
like, "Gawsh, that looks pretty painful!"
Almost every adult male here define the word "perversion"
as more than a psychological disturbance. The assassin trainer
himself and his assistant Kanie, who hate pedophiles with a passion,
are afflicted with the same sexual aberration as his targets.
Shadow concept?* You bet it is!
*Shadow concept = What you hate most about others
is what you hate most in yourself.
