A better Miko Mido
I never thought Miko Mido's looks could actually improve, but
Lady Blue has managed to show a more mature and sexier Miko. There
is a definitive refinement in the art and animation that wasn't
existent in the previous La Blue
Girl series. Furthermore, I was a bit flabbergasted that the
good ol' La Blue Girl's trajectory has gone on to a more serious
line of storytelling, which is not really the end of the world,
to say the least. In fact, I am convinced that this artistic move
is actually a big improvement in the life of the Sexcraft warriors.
Seeing Miko Mido searching for a sense of normalcy and eventually
falling in love is synonymous to watching her exhibit her vulnerability
in the most endearing way.
There is another thread in Lady Blue that also banks on the
love story of a tragic couple whose lives were shattered by a
400-year-old clan feud. The flood of extreme emotions such as
love, jealousy, betrayal, and hatred can leave one dazed and confused,
however. If you plan to understand the details and aren't just
after the notably graphic sex sequences, it would be wise to pay
very close attention to the narratives. I believe La Blue Girl's
prime movers have created a masterpiece from an otherwise overly
hyped cheesy h-anime; they have finally proven that they can produce
a solid plot that can stand unhinged from the very first episode
down to the last.
I have one little question about Miko that has remained unanswered
up to now: Why is she still considered a virgin in Lady Blue when
she's already had so many demon rapists in La Blue Girl?
