Cover Description: Tairaku is a lucky man. He has a comfortable
job teaching at a local High School. He has Satsuki, a fellow teacher
whom he hopes to marry someday. He has Aya, a beautiful student
who has fallen in love with him. He has Aya?s father, a wealthy
man who wants so much for his little girl to be happy that he has
sent her to live with Tairaku. Tairaku is a very lucky man.
Of course Aya loves nothing more than to come on to Tairaku by
lounging around his apartment half naked. Unfortunately for Tairaku,
Aya?s father happens to be wealthy because he is a major crime boss,
and he will have Tairaku slowly murdered if Aya doesn?t remain absolutely
pure.
Now Tairaku must not only restrain himself, but also protect Aya
from the hordes of men and woman at school who?d love to get their
hands on her body. And of course, if Satsuki or any of the other
teachers find out that Tairaku is living with one of his students,
he will be permanently dismissed from the teaching profession! Oh
yes Tairaku is lucky...

Happily tortured...
Very Private Lesson is a rated R comedy, not exactly hentai,
but not exactly wholesome either. The scenario is basically
about a teacher, Tairaku, who works for a high school filled
with rowdy students, somewhat like the setting of the Abashiri
Family (See Otaku Fridge for reference). He dreams about a co-teacher, Satsuki,
but ends up becoming the guardian of a female student, Aya
Shirakaba, who has developed a certain liking to him. Aya
Shirakaba is no ordinary girl, though. She has a secret that
must remain hidden and known only to three people, and Tairaku
must defend that secret—his life may depend upon it.
The first parts of Very Private Lesson are a bit dragging,
although it made me think of Slam Dunk, except it has
a protagonist who looks like Keiichi of Ah! Megami-Sama
on it (Again, see Okashi
for these two titles). The sounds weren't enough, and there's
just something missing in the flow of conversations amongst
the characters. The humor is not too contagious, and sometimes
the artists just have to resort to distorting the faces of
the characters to elicit some sort of a response from the
viewers—a tactic that somehow becomes a little bit overdone
throughout the anime.
It gets cute later on, however, despite the introduction
of two ugly anime characters. It's actually the first time
I've ever seen ugly female anti-heroes—not grotesque
or monster-like, just plain bad-looking and utterly stupid.
Sounds also miraculously begin to make themselves known later.
Hentai scenes, on the other hand, aren't anything to fuss
over. They're just usually figments of the characters' imaginations
and these are mostly implied, not acted out on.
