Many of you might have heard of her — if not her sultry voice, then perhaps her name. I came across her through Google, when I had just finished Final Fantasy X-2 and I was looking for information on the song Real Emotion. I listened and I was mystified, despite the fact that the lyrics she sang were actually a rough translation of the original Japanese rendition.
It would be interesting to note that she once believed herself to be living underneath her sister’s shadow. That was when her sister rose to fame and was known to be the talent in the family. During this time, Kristine Sa wrote poetry and songs and recorded some of them in the basement of their home. At 16, she got her break when she joined an all girl group. Although the group disbanded after some time, Ms. Sa managed to land a recording contract with Nemesis Records. What’s really amazing here is the fact that she would fly back and forth between New York and Toronto for recording sessions while still living the life of a student. No small feat for someone so young, but this is a girl with an overwhelming sense of determination.
