The Rurouni Kenshin Best Theme Collection lineup of artists is composed by nothing less but Japan's greatest -- the famed Siam Shade, TM Revolution, Bonnie Pink and even the "radical" Animetal. Because of this, you can expect a variety of music genres all in one CD. There's rock, heavy metal, a bit of R&B and also trademark jpop sounds in 1/2 and Sobakasu. The artist lineup in this CD truly amazes me and this clearly shows Rurouni Kenshin's place in the anime industry. Most of the soundtracks I hear had tracks performed by their seiyuus. The arrangement of the tracks in the Rurouni Kenshin Best Theme Collection CD are in chronological order based on when they were first heard as opening or ending tracks in the series. My favorite track was actually "1/3 no Junjou na Kanjou" (1/3 of Pure Emotional Feelings) by Siam Shade. The song starts with vocals and quiet guitar which then segways into the stunning instrumentals. Some people mistake the wonderful guitar solo as being performed by the bassist, but actually it's the lead guitarist that does this, making use mostly of the first three strings that make up the bass. Excellent palm mute and licks in there! Listen to the lyrics, too, and the mush won't elude you. They're just so dang sweet!

If you love the Rurouni Kenshin series, a series by far one of the best ever made, you will also love this soundtrack to bits. I can't stop playing the CD. A great memorable series complemented by an wonderfully compiled star-studded and addicting soundtrack just put Rurouni Kenshin on the anime A-list.
