Will Belldandy's love for Keiichi prove to be the key to ruining Celestin's plans, or will it be the final ingredient necessary to destroy our reality?!

The Goddesses have never been this beautiful. >>> by skysenshi
Belldandy owes her First Class Goddess perfection to a certain "teacher" whom she adores very much... All her memories of the past were full of happiness and love under the guidance of her sensei. But her past must come to visit her again, and soon she will learn that there's more to it than what her memories are telling her.

I must admit that I have never liked the Ah! Megami-Sama OAV series from day one because I had just been through a traumatic experience right before I saw Ah Megami four years ago. I had always hated Belldandy and Keiichi for being sickeningly sweet on each other all the time. The only two characters that made me withstand the nausea was pretty little Skuld and ultra wickedly sexy Urd.

I watched this movie through different eyes however. I was able to throw my bias away right in the middle of it -- just when I thought I was going to faint from lack of sleep. The story was really beautiful, and quite complex compared to the usually light comedy that the OAV offers. It tells about love lost and trust rediscovered (and how it's really quite sad that Urd always has to do the dirty job and still retain her 3rd class goddess status*). I didn't notice for the first 50 minutes but the artwork and animation are exquisitely done, and I only noticed just after I realized how involving the plot was. The music was also superb, a combination of classical and New Age tones blending with the most angelic of voices. Not bad! Not bad at all.

***WARNING! SPOILER NOTES***
1. There are kissing scenes and there are kissing scenes. But some people are kissing the wrong people so you've really got to be open-minded about these things (i.e. Urd transferring the memory-erasing potion to Belldandy through their mouths).
2. The dirty job I was talking about earlier is Urd always taking responsibility for Belldandy's actions in this movie and the one cleaning up the mess. I wouldn't want to be the one to erase my sister's memory just because it has to be done. It would be a heavy burden on my conscience and my own memory.
3. Belldandy is definitely in her most kawaii in this movie!
4. Keiichi has proven that clothes make the man! See Keiichi don the clothes of a god, and how he suddenly becomes cute.

Individual Rating: Art/Animation 9; Story 6; Characters 8; Sounds 6
