Anime characters on crack >>> by skysenshi
This anime is obviously set in some sort of an alternate dimension where everything is just plain bizarre! For those of you who had always thought that it's strange how the women of Tenchi Muyo world would fight over such an ugly being as Tenchi, wait till you see Photon. The universe's most powerful and beautiful women oddly make fools of themselves over a guy who looks like a chimp! Stranger still, I find Photon endearing because he is just so out of it (so I guess you can count me as one of those who fell under his spell). He's incredibly full of energy and yet he is so unaware of himself and the things around him. He does not even realize the importance of his existence. He also has a very loyal heart. When he loves someone, he takes that person in any kind of package.

What defines this series most are the characters. Everybody's just plain wacked out, as if they're on some sort of intergalactic crack, especially Pappacha the head villain. There's also a noticeable lack of handsome men so it's really understandable that the girls here seem so desperate for anything that resembles a male specimen. Can you blame them if the only cute guy I have ever seen in the entire series is an opera singer who looks like he needs to have his gender changed?

I was initially going to put this in my H site because the store where I rent DVDs from labeled Photon as "H material", but actually there isn't anything explicit or offensive. There aren't even nude scenes, just some top exposures. There are a few suggestive scenes here and there, and some of the humor border on the sexual side but that's about it.

Individual Rating: Art/Animation 7; Story 4; Characters 9; Sounds 8
